Ice Skating, Curling, Ice Hockey - all available at different times of the year
Looking for a fun day out and want to try something new? How about Ice Skating or Curling? Inverness Ice Centre have public skating sessions throughout the year, where all you need is a bit of balance and a willingness to have fun. Don’t have skates? Don’t worry, you can hire skates as well and, with over 300 pairs available, you’re bound to find the ones that fit you. Kids can join in too, with a selection of “Penguins” available for hire (OK, they’re not all penguins, some are polar bears, but they all do the same job of helping your child to stay upright). Details of sessions and prices can be found from our Public Skating page of our website.
If Skating’s not for you, maybe you’d like to have a go at Curling (although it’s not as sedate and leisurely as you might think). The curling season runs from September to March and, as well as the various Provinces that run their league and knockout competitions in the Centre, you can join a “Try Curling” session, or just come along to practice. Have a look at the Curling pages of the website to see what’s available.
Additionally, you can try the adrenalin filled chill that is Ice Hockey. Three teams (1 junior and 2 adult) currently use Inverness Ice Centre, and they have sessions and matches throughout the year – full details and how to get involved from the Ice Hockey pages of the web site.
There's a viewing area for Mums and Dads, and light refreshements are available from the Ice Cafe during public sessions.
