Explore the ridges and lochans left behind after the Ice Age.
Littlemill is just a few miles south of Inverness, but feels like a different world!
From the A9 south of Inverness, take the B851 signposted Fort Augustus - look for the Forestry and Land free car park at Littlemill near Inverarnie.
From here, you have the choice of two well signposted trails, the Kettlehole Trail and the Esker Trail. Both show you the Ice age features Littlemill is known for. The small lochs and steep ridges called Eskers were left behind after the ice receded after the last Ice Age. They form a fascinating landscape to explore and get close to nature.
