New fund provides seasonal post to ease pressures
Visit Inverness Loch Ness is delighted to announce the creation of a new ranger post to
cover the Loch Ness area, following a successful application to Nature Scot’s Better
Places Green Recovery Fund. The role will be delivered by partners at Highland Council
in line with their existing ranger service as part of responsible and sustainable visitor
management.

Michael Golding from Visit Inverness Loch Ness said:
“The Loch Ness area has a number of places that are clearly identifiable as hot spots
that come under pressure with local people and visitors enjoying these spectacular
sites. This of course brings challenges and we are delighted that with the support of
Nature Scot and partners at Highland Council a ranger service will help support the
responsible management of the destination.”
“We are committed to responsible recovery activities and to support VisitScotland’s
messaging to “leave only footprints”. By working together, we continue working
towards a safe, responsible and sustainable vision for the destination."
